(replying to myself, incase anyone's interested. Someone said that SnapBridge only handles small files, so what good is that?Īlso where can I get a good, not too expensive XQD card-reader, preferably one that can read SD and uSD cards too so I only need to travel with one card reader? The Sony MRW-E90 got a rating of 2 / 5 stars based on 12 reviews on Sony's own site, and costs ~$75. PPS - I tried the SnapBridge app on my phone and I had no trouble pairing and I could see the SMALL files on the camera from my phone - JPEGs - but no NEFs or a 20MB MP4 video I had made as a test. The LAN of course has its own WiFi network, so that's what I want to talk to. But my studio PC's are desktop workstations connected to my LAN via gigabit Ethernet cable, not wireless. PS - I saw a YT video that describes a WiFi "direct" connection to a PC that seems to involve the Z7 talking to a specific laptop PC without going through a router. I want to use WiFi to transfer images and movies to my PC in my studio. But when I went to the website for that it seems to be a mobile app that uses Bluetooth. I just bought a Z7 and I'm going through the manual, and in the (very brief!) chapter on WiFi it directs me to the SnapBridge app.
